I guess I'll start by telling you all about my two projects in progress. I guess I should call them PIPs in honor of the "short cut language" of computers. :-)

I have two projects going right now.

I'm knitting my daughter a top down sweater using the right up from Barbara Walker's book Knitting from the Top Down. I'm using Red Heart yarn -- a variegated in pinks, blues and purples. She loves the colors and I like the machine washability. I have the body, one sleeve and a tiny piece of the second sleeve finished. I'll post pictures of it as soon as I can.

My second project is an EZ sweater. Tontem Jacket (I hope I spelled that right, I'm feeling too lazy to go look it up.) I've hit the point that I am separating the fronts from the back so it is well on its way. Much to Miss Zimmerman's disappointment, if I ever make another I will use a tick sheet to keep track of my rows. Sitting and recounting the ridges is for the birds. I'm using an acrylic blend yarn of unknown brand name. A lovely plummy purple. How's that for a description? I keep telling my husband that other knitters understand when I describe things in such "puffy terms" (as he calls it) and they understand that yarn has a feel and a scent. AND they understand that yarn has a lasting quality that is hard to describe to anyone who doesn't love it.

As far as my learning goes, I'm still trying to teach myself how to use my spinning wheel. Not as easy as I had hoped but I'll get it eventually.

I have to admit I have a few other hobbies too. Crocheting, tatting, painting, reading, cooking, etc.

Wow! I can tell I am new to this. I just lost the intro I typed in.

Intro Take Two

I've been knitting for a few years now, but last year life got so wacky I decided to give up all my online groups. A few weeks ago I decided I must be going insane. I was constantly irritable, stressed and down right frustrated with things in general. I picked up my knitting needles and bam I instantly felt better.

I have simple goals for this blog. To share my projects -- even those that become UFO's -- and to have contact with other knitters. Nothing grand or elaborate. Just a chance to share a little of what brings me peace

Please be patient as I figure out how this whole blog thing works.
